Granite cleaner
Estimated Reading Time: 1 MinutesQ. Do you have any polishing compound for granite? I just installed new granite and in case I get any "etching" spots like I did on my marble when I spilled a can of soda on it I want to have something on hand. Would your marble polishing compound work? Thank you
A. First, granite will not etch like marble or limestone. This is what makes it an excellent choice for countertops. There are some polishing compounds available but they really wont restore granite unless you have it refinished. The good news if you properly maintain it you should not a have a problem with it for a very long time. I would however apply a penetrating sealer to protect it from staining if the fabricator has not already done so.
