Q: Our home is custom and less than a year old. We purchased St Lorent (sp?) black/red veined marble...expensive and lovely. We clean it twice weekly and wash off interior daily with water. It has dull streaks (like water falling down) on the interior. We have used nothing but what Stone Tec said to use for cleaning. My housekeeper is excellent and has never used anything else. The owner of StoneTec has accused us of everything under the sun. We were told it was an ideal stone to use in our huge shower. This phenomenon has started over the last 2-3 mos. We use your MB5 on the limestone counters in our kitchen. Some spots showed up on it and we were told we should not let soap and water drip on the counter NEXT TO THE SINK! We are suspicious that our shower was not properly sealed. Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you!
A: It doesn't sound like any of the products are causing the problem, but more than likely it is the water. This is especially true if the water is hard. there are several things you can do. The best thing would be to install a water softener. In lieu of that you should have the shower re-polished to remove the streaks and have it sealed with a good quality penetrating sealer. I would also apply a thin coat of car wax on the walls which should help with the streaks. After you use the shower I would use a small window squeegee like the ones found at Stone Care Central to wipe the walls down.
